On May 20, I celebrated 25 fabulous years. I woke up with an epiphany: living a quarter century on earth, living my journey is a blessing. I often wished I knew then what I know now, so I would’ve avoided many mistakes and dodged quite a few bullets. But what’s the fun with that? I didn’t know what I didn’t know and riding that steep learning curve, stalling at times made me who I am today. I am infinitely grateful to have turned out the girl my younger self would die to be best friend with, the girl she wanted to grow up to be. So what did I learn in my 25 years? This is a combination of lessons learned and most inspiring quotes from my favorite authors.
#1 What is meant for you will come to to you at the right, perfect time, if you truly desire it.
#2 Let that sh*t go! Free yourself of those negative feelings you hold on to. Subconsciously or unsubconsciously you feel they give you a sense of identity, you feel the world owe you something, maybe an explanation or an apology. Move the hell on and free your heart. You owe this to yourself.
#3 Be a Freaking Badass. Believe, strongly believe that what you want is available for you and go after it. Be restless.
#4 Just see what you can get away with, finding your dream job, travel the world, find your soulmate, etc. #whynot? Jen Sincero.
#5 Don’t give 2 craps about what others might think of you. It has nothing to do with you and everything thing to do with themselves
#6 There are no mistakes. There is no such thing as failure; because failure is just that thing trying to move you to another direction. So you get as much from your losses as you do from your victories. Because the losses are there to wake you up. Oprah Winfrey.
#7 No one defines who you are, not your family, not your friends, not your mistakes, not your past. You are the only one there is.
#8 Do your Best, somedays your best might just be staying still and breathing. And that, is more than OK
#9 Say nice things about your body, dress it up, and take it out. Give it hot sex, luxurious baths, and massages. Move it, stretch it, nourish it, hydrate it, pay attention to it—The better our bodies feel, the happier and more productive we are. Jen Sincero
#10 Stay audaciously positive. Your life and experiences are shaped by your perceptions. If you wake up every morning and decide it will be a great day no matter what, you are attracting positive energy and setting yourself for a great day. And even if you hit a few bumps along the way, you will have the energy to see the positive side of things.
#11 Close some doors. Not because of incapacity, pride or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead somewhere – unknown
#12 Nurture your relationships, do not take anyone for granted. Loving family and loyal friends are blessings. Be grateful.
#13 Be grateful, for where you are today and for the blessings on your way
#14 If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more. Cristina Yang.
#15 Love yourself, everyone benefits.
