There are encounters that can change the course of your life: within seconds, hours, days or beyond. You know those people you meet and think: “I want to be you when I grow up?” A few days ago, I was introduced to this amazingly successful businesswoman who shared with me her life story and 10 tips for success. I am a strong believer that every encounter in life has a purpose: to teach us, to challenge us, to guide us and so on. Miss CB will probably never understand the magnitude of her effect on people, but her story somehow answered a question I have anxiously been asking myself for the past two years and at the same time defined my course of action to succeed with that answer. Here, the messenger, I want to share with you those advises and hope that they hit you the way they did for me. Miss CB on life:

  1. Think BIG – I say it throughout my blog “if your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough”. Dare to dream big and BELIEVE in yourself. You absolutely have to believe that you can pull yourself up and make your dreams come reality.
  2. Make the sacrifices – nothing comes easy. You have to be willing to do and let go of what it takes to get where you want to be. Everything has a price. You can’t bargain here.
  3. Work HARD! You have to be willing to put in the work and invest yourself. Give it all you have. And when you feel as you have given it all, that don’t have anymore, take a deep breath, and give it even more (I believe that is the most important and many fall short on the HARD part).
  4. Keep learning, read and absorb everything you can. Be a connoisseur, an education warrior, a book ninja and what have you – “Knowledge is power”.
  5. Surround yourself with people who will pull you up, push you forward, make you better and rise you stronger. That unfortunately or fortunately means that you have to clear your friends’ repertoire of all the negative and sinking vibes.
  6. Stay humble: Always remember where you come from, where you are going and the people that made it possible. You will encounter challenges and many failures, accept them. They are part of the lessons, the experiences that will build who you need to be.
  7. Hold your head high and always walk with confidence (everywhere and anywhere), like you belong because you do and deserve the best. And even the times you don’t believe it yourself, pretend you do, “fake it until you make it”.
  8. Invest in your appearance – It is the first thing people see, it tells a lot about yourself, it dictates who approaches you, therefore the additions to your network.
  9. You have potential and you know it- don’t waste your time with fluff. Get to what is important.
  10. Spend wisely, save and invest carefully so your money can work on its own, for you.
